Sophia Ferrera
Sophia Ferrera began her 15 years of dance training at Dance Carousel in Scituate, Massachusetts, competing on the award-winning Ensemble Dance team for 7 years. During her time competing, she won the Young Choreographer Award at the American Dance Awards two years in a row, and received the Sparkle Award and Bette Campbell Tap Scholarship from the Greater Brockton Dance Teachers Association in 2017.
After high school, Sophia attended the NYU Tandon School of Engineering and matriculated summa cum laude with a degree in Integrated Design and Media Studies. She has since reignited her love for leading, creating, and performing, and now choreographs for the competitive dance team at Zeal Performing Arts Studio on the South Shore. In addition to her love of dance, Sophia is a NASM Certified Personal Trainer and group fitness coach at OrangeTheory.
In her free time, Sophia loves cooking for friends, laying on the couch, and doing The New York Times crossword. It is her fifth season dancing and fourth season choreographing with DanceWorks Boston, and she is so grateful to be feeling the #DWBLove!
