Lauren Bjella grew up dancing in DeLand, Florida, starting at the age of two. In 2013, she began training at the European School of Performing Arts (ESPA) in Ormond Beach, Florida, a ballet-focused studio. That same year, she performed with ESPA at the 15th International Shanghai Arts Festival. After graduating high school in 2018, Lauren attended the Young Dancers Workshop at Bates Dance Festival and returned the following summer for the Professional Training Program.

Lauren graduated from Emerson College in 2022 with a major in Journalism and minors in Dance and Nonprofit Communication. During her time at Emerson, she served as President of Emerson Dance Company, an 80+ member student organization, for two years and choreographed for six semesters.

Lauren works at a workforce development nonprofit where she focuses on volunteer/intern engagement and recruitment, and she is also a certified resume writer.

Lauren is extremely excited and grateful for her upcoming fourth season dancing with DanceWorks Boston and her first season choreographing!
