Born and raised in Los Angeles, Danya Helperin has been dancing all her life. After training in hip hop and contemporary at various L.A. studios, she completed a double B.A. in Dance and Business at Muhlenberg College. At Muhlenberg, she choreographed and performed in numerous departmental dance productions and danced with the on-campus hip hop team. She has since moved to Boston to pursue arts administration and hopes to work with local Boston dance community fixtures in the future. She has worked with renowned dance companies such as Pilobolus, Parsons Dance, and Complexions Contemporary Ballet.

Danya is committed to maintaining a strong sense of identity through her work in the arts and is passionate about fostering equity, sustainability, and conscientiousness in the spaces she inhabits. She joined DWB so she can keep bringing her choreographic visions to life post-grad while continuing to dance alongside passionate people. This is her second season with DWB and her first season choreographing. She is so excited for this season and can’t wait to get started!
